Haywood, secretary of the Western Federation of Miners, which began Thursday. Judge Wood held that tho request of Haywood's counsel for a moro explicit statement of tho charges again the prisoner 4 enmo too late, regardless of whether or not It might liavo been entertained at an earlier Btage of the proceedings. In cases where bills of particulars are allowable, tho man who Is to preside over tho trials of the accused miners declared the motions must be made beforo tho Indictments nro pleaded .
