Show D am A BLIND ENTERTAIN at the luncheon ot of the kiwanis club held at the commercial club rooms yesterday at noon a splendid program was furnished by a delegation from the utah school tor for the deat deaf and blind at ogden it was also fathers and sons day the members bringing a son making an attendance ot of seventy five to eighty people besides the visitors demonstrations were conducted by the visitors from the state school showing the wonderful accomplishments these theae children have made under their adverse physical condition A t blind girt girl ot of 12 read rapidly from finger touch and played the piano with marked success four little deal deaf children showed wonderful advancement in knowledge gained of 0 t the affairs of 0 life under expert training A chorus of 0 blind girls rendered most beautifully a number of selections and an address was delivered by prof driggs the visiting party was composed of prof frank driggs president ot of the school miss aliss mary hertog and miss martha C colman instructors knola wright atton afton curtis anna jorgensen rodney walker all ot of ogden and al of whom are deat deaf ruby wheeler ot of brigham esther and mary elmer of 0 garland zella desetto ot of heiner gladys mcclellan of glenwood blanche nelson ot of st george lois and mate mabel anderson of 0 orangeville Orang eville blanche biancho lamb ot of To kerville lavern jeffs ol of salt lake linda Masso ero of ogden blind girls who made up the chorus the children were given luncheon and each presented a box boi of 0 candy in appreciation of their entertainment afar the luncheon the party from the school were taken to the academy of ot music Alusic where they gave demonstrations and singing at a childrens dance to about people the deat deaf and dumb pupils danced at the academy and the daywan day was one ot of great pleasure to them very instructive tive and interesting the patience endurance perseverance and real en deavor set forth by the deaf and blind children should work as an incentive to the children who are more favorably blessed to get in and work while at school and fully appreciate the opportunities port unities they enjoy |
