Show PLAN OUTLINED FOR STATE BALL LEAGUE more afore than forty baseball bo boasters boosters ot of I 1 salt lake ogden brigham and provo prove met at the A G spalding store wednesday evening and outlined plans tor for the proposed utah state baseball league which is to be composed of the four cities mentioned representatives were in attendance each anxious to place a team in the field in the new organization henry mann was present as a rev reo of the salt lake elks floyd dern represented the covey ballard motor company while earl wright was the official delegate of the utah oil baseball club jesse S richards and clarence brooks represented ogden will R holmes W B E davis henry frogley j 13 daron baron and lawrence A hansen represented brigham while ray borne T H heal I 1 D 1 l in attendance as representatives of the provo club while tentative plans were agreed upon no definite action toward the forming of a state organization was taken it was suggested that the forfeit money the matter of the splitting ot of the gate salary limits and other matters of importance be discussed by each ot of the clubs before their re respective pec organizations after which defir definite lito plans will be outlined from all appearances the league will be formed and the limit at first planned on utah players will in all probability be lifted the majority of the boosters boasters bo in attendance favored a free hand in the selecting of players with the understanding that outlaw players he be barred from competing in the league at tile the future meetings one representative enta tive from each club will be in attendance with power to act the next meeting will probably be held monday night here with delegates present from the clubs mentioned due to the tact fact that but one club will be listed in salt lake the other three clubs will pass on the candidates and make a final decision after which complete details will be worked out it was the general consensus of opinion that the league will feature independent ball during the coming season with immediate steps taken to organize in class D baseball tor for 1924 from the interest manifested at the meeting the league is practically assured at al warden ot of ogden acted as chairman and was authorized to call the next meeting during the forepart of the coming week tribune |
