Show Special Meeting of Garland Commercial Club. A special mectiug of the Garland Commercial Com-mercial Club was held In its rooms in thu ltltcr lllock, Monday evening, Aug. in, which was called for tho purpose of infuslug nuw life into tho organization or disband. There was quite a large number of tho members prescut and thu matter was quite generally discussed and views exchanged. The matter of temporarily doing away with tho social features of tho club and thereby reducing reduc-ing In a very material way tho running expenses of thu organization and limiting limit-ing It to u commercial organization was considered uud left open for further dibcusslou uud consideration. A commit-tco commit-tco was appointed by thu chair consisting of W P Eaton, Jos Corbett aud ED Dncou for thu purpose of meeting with thu Hoard of Trustees of tho town of Garland to ascertain if it would bo agreeable agree-able with that organization to Install thu club furniture Iu the town building for thu town mo lu consideration of the town's permission to use Its building us a place In which to meet for thu purpose ol discussing commercial nutters in case thu club is limited to a purely coramer clal organization. A further committee was appointed by the chair to confer with tho delinquent members lu an etfort to induce them to liquidate their club dues. Thu committee appointed consists con-sists of Jos Jensen, Chos Edwards aud M (.! Hanson. Tho meeting was then adjourned until Monday evening, August 17th, when thu committees will submit their reports. , |
