Editor Globo: In behalf of the ltollgton Class workers work-ers of this ward, we wish to ssy through the columns of your paper that our social given last Saturday afternoon and evening, Jan. 10, was a success both socially and financially. Tho children were given a treat In the form of candy, nuts and apples as well as a dance In the afternoon. All seemed to enjoy themselves them-selves and credit Is due tbo children for their good behavior. The social was oponcd and closed by prayer In concert, all present joining In. In the evening a bssket ball was given whloh was well attended. Our slncero thanks aro due the ladles of the advanced department for the splondld baskets contributed. Tho liberal manner In which they were bid In showed that they were appreciated, We regret to state that a few of tho young men in attendance were under the Influence of liquor and suggest that the management of tho hall enforce tho rules In tbo future and refuse admission to such characters. We also ask thodaronts who are interested in tbo advancement of their children to remind re-mind their children of all ages who at tend tho district schools, tho larger boys especially, of the meeting every Wednesday Wed-nesday also to encourage tbcm to prepare pre-pare their lessons. A little co-operation on the part of tbo parents would greatly assist us.
