Show BOYSCOUT COUNCIL TO BE ORGANIZED ORGil ZED the visit of national field executive miller iiller of the doy boy scouts of america to this city on sunday last resulted bulted in the inauguration of a movement to organize a county council of the first class at the meeting sunday afternoon which was held in the commercial club rooms mr air miller outlined the functions of a county council to a large body of business men and leading citizens and ho he plead tor for the cooperation of the gentlemen in the name of the boys of the county tor for without the county council the boy scout movement cannot hope to attain its full degree ot of efficiency the great movement has for its purpose the saving of tile the boys and there Is perhaps no force operating upon the boys of the orld today that is more potent for good than the scout movement following the meeting held on oil sunday another informal meeting was held on monday afternoon at which scout commissioner cook of oe garland and scout commissioner alt freeman ot of this city further outlined the purposes of the doy boy scout movement and the meeting decided to appoint a committee to direct a campaign of 0 publicity and enlightenment throughout the entire county for the purpose ot of generating enthusiasm and laying the ground work for the organization of a strong county council which will w have it a membership of approximately fifty men the committee named included the fol following loNing gentlemen A al hansen chairman R T willey 11 II 11 stewart C IV richards nic hards E J IV S hansen amos A D mcguire 0 E smith and james bigler this committee will also arrange fora lor beneral meeting at some near future date at which the county council will be organized |
