Show pr j n PETERS BILL dall NO isu 10 PASSES HOUSE senate bill no 10 introduced by senator john W peters and providing tor for the reclassification ot of the cities of the second and third class passed the lower house of 0 the state legislature monday evening without adis a dissenting vote the measure passed the senate without objection but when it came to the I louse house some amendments were tacked on to safeguard the murray school rustem and it was discovered that those amendments threatened the constitutionality ot of the measure the bill now goes back to the senate where it will doubtless be referred to a conference committee from the two lawmaking houses which will iron out the defects and make it ready tor for acceptance by both houses in the form that it is intended to function properly A largo large delegation ot of gentlemen from tills this county went down to salt lake on monday to urge the passage ot of the measure and dr george H thomas state superintendent ot of public instruction spoke at length in favor of the measure before the house ot of Re yes on oil Alon monday dav the bill affects the entire state as much as it affects box elder county though it has been designated a brigham city murray measure this tact fact was clearly pointed out to the law makers liy by dr thomas |
