Show ABOUT A sinan nyc POOL the matter matt er ot of a swimming pool lor for the youngsters when the hot weather comes Is again up for discussion and lt it Is noted that recommendation were made at the last meeting meet n ot of the city council to have the cement retaining wall at the pool constructed near the ball park water proofed it Is assumed that an attempt will be made to use that pool during the coming summer and thus get something in return lor for the money that lias has been expended on it thus tar far it Is really beally unfortunate that the money expended on the pool was not applied in the construction ot of a cement basin uptown somewhere for the cost ot of the retaining wall would undoubtedly equal the cost of 0 the cement work in an uptown swimming pool which could have been designed to lo be a part of a big public gymnasium and it if the people were located uptown it could be properly regulated and parents would not then have the anxiety about the morals of 0 their boys which disturbs them under the present unsatisfactory conditions it will be a serious mistake in our judgement jud gement to expend any more money on the pool at the ball park it is not located in the right place it is not and cannot be constructed properly it will cost too much money to operate it as it should be anil and it will never serve the purpose tor for which it is intended A swimming pool uptown properly regulated ted and housed in would be a wonderful asset to this community it if we will wili retrain refrain from spending any more money at the pond and put what can be spared into a proper swimming pool we will get somewhere salt lake city is setting the rest ot of the state an example in the matter ot of municipal baths and swimming pool and what the capital city is doing brigham Brig liam city can do relatively speaking if we have any money to spare for waterproofing or anything else on the present pool lets save it until we can got get enough more to build an institution that wo we will be proud of and one that will give us the service for which it is intended |
