Show WORK STARTED ON NEW ROAD in accordance with an agreement made at a meeting and banquet recently held by the panguitch Pan gultch lions club at which several milford and beaver men were present to cooperate with those people la in building a road over buckskin mountain to connect the two highways 89 and 91 and to afford an easier and shorter route between panguitch Pan gultch and that district abrew of nine men from here headed by the panguitch Pan gultch llona lions road committee began work on the road sunday clearing away brush and removing rocks afterward a trip was made in a car clear into beaver without any trouble whatever W A lee and a cre crew w of 0 men and teams left tor for buckskin tuesday afternoon and will get the road in shape so that at the end of a week or more it la Is hoped the road will bo be ready tor for travel the county commissioners ol of garfield Gartl eld county have loaned the committe their road equipment which will aid greatly in hastening the work all the bad places in lower bear valley will be fixed the two highways will be connected at point this work Is being done mostly by private donations of money and labor the milford and beaver elti citizens zens had subscribed about in labor and money according to last reports and have begun work on their end of the road so tar far panguitch has contributed e about about 1500 will be spent on this road by private contribution efforts are being made to enlist the aid of the bureau of public roads the forest service and the state highway commission in putting this road over and if Is confidently expected that in the near future there will be a splendid highway over the mountain con necking the two main routes pan gultch will then see a consi considerable drable in III crease ot of tourist travel through this section and that la Is what we all want |
