Show CITY COUNCIL MINUTES the city council of 0 brigham city met inet in regular session tuesday evening 7 march 23 1920 mayor J W peters councilmen dunn mathias phillips hanson hansen and bargeron present resolution authorizing and empowering mayor to execute deed to brigham city fruit growers highest and best bidder on west 4 l of 0 lots 4 5 and 6 plat ilat B recently ad verti zed for sale introduced moved by mathias matalas and seconded by phillips that resolution be adopted carried communication from city attorney lowe relative to cites powers in establishing tab lishing water and electric energy rates read by mayor peters ordered tiled filed lorenzo lorenlo anderson appeared before council and requested and received information pertaining to rules governing the planting of 0 shade trees communication from new west magazine co soliciting city advertising read moved loved by hansen seconded by mathias athias Al that mayor peters investigate circulation of this magazine and possible benefit to brigham city from placing ad therein carried moved by bargeron seconded by phillips that brigham city do not assume supervision care and maintenance of 0 lUnder kindergarten garten grounds on east forest as requested by committee appearing in previous meeting ayes bargeron dunn matalas Mat lilas and phillips nays hansen motion lotion I 1 lk carried mayor peters re reported ported that some citizens favor the purchase by brigham city corporation of 0 the two acre mulberry grove adjoining the south west corner of the cemetery question discussed and action deterred deferred moved by hansen that be offered owners 0 of mulberry grove two aero acre plat tor for purchase ot of same failed councilman dunn reported in favor ot of the city managers action in having trees removed from ind east between ind and 3rd ard south marshal lee reported that in response to complaint of 0 fire chief he had investigated conditions at both moiling to izig picture houses in this city and found a proper observance ot of precautions against tire fire and conditions in general perfectly satisfactory after consideration by council of petitions tor for creating paying paving district no 9 it was decided to extend time for presenting new petitions for paved sidewalks three weeks therefore any and all new petitions for paved sidewalks tor for present year must be presented to the city recorder by or before april city recorder instructed to re adver use lise tor for bids tor for paving district number eight I 1 councilman mathias reported his findings on proposition of cementing ditth ditch on ind south from main to 1st ast east in response to request by stake presidency made several suggestions concerning this proposed move |
