Show CAPT YOUNG tf I 1 bif WILL I 1 ORGANIZE TROOP capt af L young of 01 the state adjutant generals office came up to Drig brigham harn city today on oil the matter ot of the organization of troop D of state cavalry in this city capt young brought with him a batch of 0 large cards which he be has been cuttings put tings out in the shop windows tor for the purpose ot of inviting the young men to get in the troop he will remain in this city until after the physical examinations which have been appointed tor for next monday evening capt young states that arrangements have been made to take a temporary lease on the academy of 0 music for armory purposes and as quickly as possible more suitable quarters will be provided relative to the attitude of 0 a number of the gentlemen who enlisted and who feel that their personal interests will suffer it if they are compelled to go thru capt young declared that there is no disposition on oil the part of the guard officers to hold men under such circumstances but it if the men are willing filing to stay on until after the government examinations have been completed then the entire troop will be furnished equipment complete so that there need be no wait on account of not having sufficient men to complete tile the troop after that examination the cases ot of the men who desire to retire can be disposed ot of arid and will be disposed ot of to the entire satisfaction of the men themselves As to the commanding officers of the troop capt young declares that the men themselves will determine who the officers will be by a company election capt young will see the organization well underway himself and is strongly in favor of local men for off officers cers lie ile says it is not necessary that tile the captain should have had any previous military training but rather that he should have ability to handle men arid and command respect the fear that some haie expressed that the officers will be forced upon the troop is absolutely groundless according ding to captain young except in so tar far as the majority votes of the members themselves shall prevail in the selection oll of the officers captain young states further that the organization of a troop of cavalry in fit brigham city aside from the physical advantages to the members themselves will mean a monthly income to lie he community of 0 approximately 1000 during the remainder of this week capt young will be at the hotel boothe where enlisted men or candidates tor for enlistment may confer with him arid and secure any and all information relative to the plans tor for the organization ot of the troop |
