modern child evincing increasing Dis disrespect et for law and authority by MISS ANNIE DEMAREST veteran new york teacher sparing the rod lifts has indeed spoiled the child I 1 know it is old fash boned but I 1 do think the present generation has gone entirely too far in this so called freedom fro edom I 1 think tile greatest change lias has como come in the attitude of the children of course our teaching methods have changed and our tv teaching aching philosophy has haa been reversed since r started work 61 51 years ago the state for instance which never used to interfere constantly demands more and more of ilia teachers there has haa been continual growth but the greatest change has haa come in the children themselves they still have the same instincts they do not have the same training there is no longer the respect for law and authority among them there is more freedom more independence and less obedience they have little respect for their parents and of course less for teachers and for those with whom they come in ill contact outside
