Show BOY SCOUT MOVEMENT in another column of this issue scout commissioner alfred freeman freema has an announcement concerning the future plans for boy scout activities in the sunday paper president heber J grant of the dominant church in an interview given at chicago antoune anno unc ed that the day boy scout movement has fias now become an integral part of the church just jast the same as II AT 1 I A work tile the relief society primary and sunday school and the church proposes to inaugurate a campaign to bring the scout movement right to the forefront alongside these other activities the work has already begien iwa staged st ed in tilis this community anaf and being jar tarried out under ehe direction of ahe lie stake board Y M al 1 I A with mr jr freeman as the official director for some time past mr freeman has been making regular weekly trips to salt lake city to attend a special school for scout commissioners in order that he might be equipped to train the local workers and he has progressed pio gressed so far that he is now prepared to begin imparting the knowledge lie he has gained to others in all the wards of the box bos elder stake scout work will be taken up with vigor and alid an organization I 1 effected in efery ward if possible front from ar sir freemans freemanb Fre emans announcement it will be seen that a number of our prominent citizens have been interested 1 te tei in this great movement of saying saving and developing the boys through and they are going to lend their influence and labor toward making a success of the movement an appeal is now made to tile the I 1 parents to look kindly upon this activity and permit their boys to take part in id it the underlying principle of it all is the making of better boys and every father and mother ought to be vitally interested in every such activity enthusiastic operation cooperation co will make a success movement and in as much as scout cratt is somewhat of a new movement at least in its present form and proportions that hearty and enthusiastic spirit and cooperation is necessary to make it go it will not fall that much can iea headily lily bo be predicted but it will not grow as I 1 rapidly as it might unless enthusiasm lbanks backs it up the officers charged with directing the movement are full of enthusiasm and it is for the rest of us to catch the same spirit the saving ot of the boys and making of them stalwart citizens is the biggest vocation any one can engage in |
