of th tb elower house man many of them being led to their death because there was not time to do anything else with them of tho the bills killed sixty seven wore were drigin originated in the house and thirty nine in the senate with one report the sifting committee recommended that the enacting clause be stricken from sixty soven eoven house bills and with another it was taken from twenty eight cig senate bills then in the early evening mr cannon of davis county moved th that a t the enacting clause be stricken ricken at from tho the remaining seven senate bills on the calendar the motion was carried and the calendar was clear the session has had a few outstanding features among these being the bill on which some members of the two houses have been working since the session opened the gasoline tax also has bag been an item of interest agthe as the bills having to do with this and the licenses for automobiles and trucks were under consideration the budget bill held a wide interest inhere st as everyone interested in any sort of legislation was concerned regarding the appropriation decision to stop on time was announced some time ago by speaker miller of the house after ho he ibie senate at the time senator J W peters made the motion in a congratulatory speech in which he felicitated felicita ted the governor in the excellence of his choice and the people of the senate in obtaining the services vicea of a man of mr mckays type before the actual vote had been taken senator antoinette B kinney in a speech so BO happily worded that it was ordered spread in full on the journal presented president mckay in behalf of the members with a handsome gold watch and chain on the inner case of which is inscribed the name of each of the senators mrs kinney said she was waa
