The chief interesting bit of ;buslnes3 transacted by the board of education laBt evening was the allowing of claims i tor services presented by the judgeB of the school election, refused Dy the former for-mer board. The matter has been thoroughly canvassed and the present board finds that although the judges were appointed by the registration officers of-ficers under direction of the Utah j commission, that the board endorsed en-dorsed and sanctioned the work of the judzes which was done in good faith, hence the claims should bd pa51; which was ordered done as follows: Jacob F. Gates 3 00 M. L.Pratt 6 00 C. N. Red field 3 03 J. V. Jones.. 3 00 E, C. HenrichBen 3 00 Henry Kruger 3 00 L. S. kelson 3 00 Brigham Johnson 3 00 Geo. A. Dusenberry 3 00 E. A. Wedgwood 3 00 Ten dollars of V. L. HallidayV claim of $20 00 for canvassing election returns, issuing certificates, making and filing bonds of members and obtaining ob-taining their commissions from the territory was also allowed. Thomas John was the only member voting no on the allowance of these claims. OTHER BUSINESS. Janitor llieske asked for $5.00 per month more salary. Not granted. Treasurer's report received: Receipts Re-ceipts $13.00; disbursed, $3,580.84; balance bal-ance on hand $1,470.63.
