In yesterday's issue of The DisPATCn was a ten line notice that has occasioned occa-sioned Eph Homer, city superintendent superintend-ent of waterworks, no end of trouble in talking and explaining to ecores of people peo-ple who have called upon him the cause for the riley water now being served to the people of Provo through the inains.and which has set the whole town to talking. The water is riley and many there are who insist that the cause of it is that the w"ater contains a light indissoluble mineral substance which will not settle, and which is brought by the river all the way from the Ontario tunnel in Park City. Mr. Homer declares that this is not so; that three miles this side of the tunnel the water of the river is as pure and as clear as is the water where it issues from the virgin spring. Some days ago he sent a bottle of the water east iO be analyzed. He txpects returns from it in a few days, when, he says, it will be proven beyond a question of a doubt that he is .right when he avers that none of the mineral from the Ontario tunnell ever reaches Provo. The very muddy water of a few days ago, he says, was caused by a big snow slide up the canyon which temporarily damned up the river. Mr. Homer further says that the slight murky appearance ap-pearance of the water today is caused by slight caviogs in of the banks of the iver between here and the mouth of the canyon, caueed by the recent heavy snows. Be sure and go to the charity ball tonight and try a cup of Walter Baker's breakfast cocoa, which will be served bv charming young ladies dressed in the cosume of "La Belle Chocolatiere" and help a worthy cause.
