The case occupying the time of Judge Smith and a jury today is a suit for $5,000 damages alleged to have been sustained through Blander, Adolph Lockwitz. a Jew, at present a liquor dealer in Stilt Lake, is plantiff and Pat Shae ot Eureka is defendant, On July 10. 1S93, a build'ng in Eureka, owned by Mr. Lockwitz'e wife and in which was a stock of liquors and cigars. It was insured for $7,000.00. Lockwitz accuses Shae of slander in that he said in the presence of many people that he (Lockwitz) had set the building afire and had made a good job of it.
