W'hatever the result of the investigation may be. the troubled waters in which the city's police po-lice department now finda itself will not be calmed by it, nor are they likely to be calmed until the department does something to clear itself of the accusation that is openlv and repeatedly made upon the streets, that it is drawing a regular monthly stipend in cash from certain yiolators of law and the ordinances in return for which the infractions are winked at. Clara H. Blackebter, nee Bocker, of lleber city has filed in the First District Dis-trict court suit for divorce from her husband, William Blackerter, alleging desertion and failure to provide. The two were married at Heber on March 15, 1893; she alleges that he deserted her on or about August 15, 1893 This is the woman with whom it is alleged that young Chopping of Heber committed com-mitted the crime of fornication, upon which charge he is now held in the sum of $200 to await the acum of the grand jury. John G- Snyder, administratDr of the estate of Lydia Snydedr, deceased, has brought suit in tbe First District court agaimit Theresa Osterlob, Her.-man Her.-man Osierloh and James W. Bean for foreclosure of mortgage given to secure payment of a promissory note for $1,000.00 signed on June 29, 1891. The time of the First District court is being occupied today bearing evidence evi-dence in the case entitled the Goshen Irrigation company vs. C. E. Nelson et al. The defendants are of Mona and use water out of Salt Creek which continues con-tinues on and supplies the farmers of Goshen. The plaintiff 8 allege that defendants de-fendants have used and continue to use too much of the water. |
