The following business was transacted tran-sacted yesterday by the county court after which adjournment was taken till September 16th: Petition received from George Burch and :hirty-8ix others asking for location loca-tion of county road from Lake Shore to Springville precinct. Oobern, asking for change of load near Clear Creek recommending re-commending that the change not be made ior the reason that the proposed etiange contemplates the construction of a mile or more very expensive dug-way dug-way which when completed would be dangerous, continually getting out of repair by the pas?iog over it of many sheep and cattle. The road at that nlace is now good and in Sife condition con-dition all the year round. The report was adopted. The report of Judge Dusenberry on insane cases tried during the quarter was read accepted and hied and cost bill allowed: Anna Weidmark; judge's fee $5 00, ph) sicians fees $6.00, clerk'B fee $2.50, eheriffs fee 81.60 Total 815 00 Serine Conrad; judge's fen $5.00, physicians' fee S6.00, clerk's fee 50 cents, sheriff's .fee $1 CO. Total $12.50. Marion M. Johnson; judge's fee $5.00. physician's fees $6 00, clerk's fee $2 50, sheriff's fee $2 50, Total $16.00. Grand total $43.50. Selectman Bullock reported favorably favora-bly on the petition of L. P. Lund and othera recommending that the sum of $250 00 be appropriated to gravel and grade the sand hill at the north end of Provo Bench. Report adopted. Selectman Reynolds reported unfavorably un-favorably on the petition of the board of education asking permission of the court as provided in the school law of 1894 to detach from the Provo city school district and attach to the Provo Bench district all of that portion of the district lying west and north of Provo river. Selectman Beynoldo holds that to grant the petition wouid be a very great disadvantage to the majority of the people in the district to be detached unless another echoolbouse were built. The report was adopted Selectman Bullock reported recommending recom-mending that the petition; of L. L. Clark and others of Alpine district asking that a cer'ain piece of road commencing at the north end of the county road in Alpine and running thence north to the upper end of Fort canyon 2 miles, be received and established es-tablished as a county road. be. not granted. Adopted. Selectman Bullock reported on the petition of Georee Rowley recommending recommend-ing and allowance of $6 CO per month. The report was adopted and the selectman se-lectman ordered to pay the amount regularly out of his poor and indigent fund. Mr. Rowley is an old man residing re-siding in American Fork, 68 years of age who lost his eye-sight 29 years 1 bpo from exDOsure in working iu the I woolen mills of this territory. Hid wife is enfeebled with age and ill health and suffers greatly with rheumatism, their sons and daughters ' have large families and are not in good circumstances. They have a home and city lot only which produces pro-duces garden stuff. For the balance of their sustenance they are wholly dependent upon the charity of others. Selectman Peery reported on the petition of Frank Clark of Payson recommending re-commending that he be allowed $5.00 per month for the support of Peter Neilsen, an old and enfeebled man Mr. Clark has in his charge. Selectman Pery was instructed to pay the amount regularly out of his poor and indigent fund. Claims in total amount of $1473.43 were allowed and the different amounts appropriated. The claim of James Miller for services ser-vices as fruit tree inspector for Spanish Span-ish Fork was reconsidered and the sum 01 $42.00 allowed Mr. Miller for his eeryices. Appropriates were made to the selectmen as follows: To Selectman Peery, highway fund $261 25; poor and indigent fund $200.00. To Selectman Reynolds, poor and indigent in-digent fund, $200 0D. To Selectman Bullock, poor and indigent in-digent fund, $15000. Tne sum 01 $120.00 with which to pay interest due at the Provo Commercial & Savings bank on $6000.00 note was appropriated. The sum of $25.G0 was appropriated to the county clerk on contingent fund. The following sums were appropriate appropri-ate as eaUries ior q-iarter ending September Sep-tember 1895: A. i). Cbristeueen, superintendent of BchoiUa, as salary for the quarter ending June 1, 1895, and $7.50 to Gra-hAm Gra-hAm & Barnes and $40.32 to Iowa Printing Print-ing company for supplies for district schools, total $332,22, from the school fund. |
