Show The democratic society of the Fifth J ward held a meeting last evening in the Parker schoolhouse and elected the following delegates to the convention conven-tion today; Mrs. II. E Halliday, Mrs. Ellen Jakeman, Miss Aiice Reynolds, Myron C. Newe!, David Open6haw, A. V, Itob'son, R. R. Irvine, E. L. Jones, J. R Twelves, It. E. Knowlden, Mrs. John 11. Twelves, Mrs. Joseph T. Mc-Ewan. Mc-Ewan. The following were elected as alternates: Jacob F, Gates, Miss Ottilie Maeeer, Mrs. David Openshaw and josepn a. iucrjwan. ioe iueeuut4 whs well attended. A telegram received today by Karl G. Maeser announces the sad news that the 2-months-old daughter, Ottilie of Mr. and Mrs. Rheinard Maeser of Beaver, died there this morning at 7:30 o'clock. Ed. L. Jones, probate clerk f :r thie county, has not yet determined to raise his fee for marriage licenses. He says that he cannot read the law to mean that a fee of $2.75 can legally be charged, hence for a time at least he will continue to charge the old fee of $2.25 only. The surprise was indeed a surprise to Mr, Harrison. The party on reachirg his residence fcund him in bed Bound asleep.
