Prof. Giles returned from Salt Lake this morning, where be has been on business connected with the musical festival to be given here on June IS. lie informed a Dispatch man that the Salt Lake Tabernacle choir contemplates con-templates paying Proyo a visit on that date. This will bring about 600 people peo-ple to Provo. The excursionists will go to the Lake on that day, and enjoy en-joy themselves, returning in the evening even-ing they will attend the grand concert in the Tabernacle. Tffis will undoubtedly undoubt-edly be the grandest array of musical talent ever witnessed in the Territory. The Abbie Carringtou Opera Co. is world famous, and Miss Carringtou is one of the finest singers in the world, her range being something marvelous. This is quite a masterly stroke for Provo to havft some ot the world's greatest singers appearing in the Tab ernacle, in tact it is almost a greater stroke than the securing of Emma Thursby and Myron Whitney in the recent Salt Lake festival. The ad-diticn ad-diticn of 600 people from Salt Lake, including mnnyof the renowned musicians musi-cians of our Territory, shows this to be an event of great importance in the musicial history of the Territory. Everybody in Provo and in Utah county should attend this concert, as it will almost be th e chance of a, lifetime. life-time. The choir and orchestra will immediately imme-diately go into training for the festival, festi-val, and under Prof, tides' able leadership lead-ership will astonish some of the visitors visit-ors on that day. |
