Show B. Y. A. Politics. Politics have been running high in the B. Y. Academy lately, the students stu-dents having divided on national lines, viz: Republicans and Democrats. Some very inieresting rallies have been held lately by both sides, and yesterday was their first election day for mayor. There were 181 qualified voters at the polls who cast their ballots, resultingin a victory for the Democratic party as follows: H. Lund (Dem.) - - 100 II. Bird (Rep.) - - 81 Total - - - - 181 Democratic majority, - 19, Among those who defended the sides bv speechmaking and discussion were for the Democrats Miss Mabel Thurman and Mr. Ed Hinckley; and for the Republicans, Miss Julia Farns-worth Farns-worth and R. R. Lyman. |
