Secretary I Smith has called for the resigns- tion of Mr. Williams; of Arkansas, I member of the Utah commission, and J also for the resignations "of Robertson, of Indiana, and Godfrey, of Iowa, the two Republican members of the same commission. 1 It is understood that Secretary Smith vrill recommend the appointment of George W. Thatcher, of Logan, in place of Williams, and he will recommend recom-mend the appointment to two republican republi-can memberB from the territory. FraDk Harris will be nominated in a few days for receiver of public moneys at Salt Lake. Mr. Islaub will be appointed postmaster post-master at Ogden, probably on Monday next.
