Samuel Cornaby, notary public, city recorder, and agent for the Lombard Investment Company, is just recovering from a tustle with la grippe. With bo many offices it is no wonder he downed his assailant. Hon. Wm. Creer is the local agent j here for the Lehi Sugar Company. He says that sixty acres will be planted this spring in sugar beet. Mr. Creer is very enthusiastic m this as in all other things of apublic interest.- The new school house is nearly completed, and the trustees, the contractors, con-tractors, the builders and the public, are to be congratulated. It is thought by Mr. C. T. Donald, tha contractor, that it will be ready for use by May 1st of this year. After buing cooped in for several days, our local politician, Mr. James Hutchison, looks gaunt and weary. With all that "Jimmy" feels proud, and the public with him, that his family escaped the clutches of death in their late sad experience. Mr. Money is further adorning his premises with a very neat fence. His good Indy will be the better able to make a showing of her nice lawn and will contrast much better with her elegant display of flowers and shrubs, as daily seen in the bow-window. Lars O. Lawrence, dealer in groceries, stoves, produce, etc., has failed. His place of business was closed up Monday by orders from the Utah Stove & Hardware Co., of Salt Lake City, Deputy Marshal B. Bowen, Esq., where '"Ted" Woods, the groomsman, presides in dignity. Here we were shown "Kali," the famous black French coach horse, three years old, weight 1,200 pounds; also "Davoust," who won the first prize at the last Territorial Fair. The above animals, together with the 1700 pounds Percheron mare, newly imported, im-ported, and other numerous full blooded animals the gentleman has, afford evidence of push and determined de-termined effort to bring our stock to ; the very highest standard of perfection. |
