It appears that 80 sheep, each weigh" ing about 100 pounds, were fattened for a weok or so until they turned the scale at from 115 pounds to 133 pounds They were then shipped to London, where they realized an average price, after deducting commission, of abon 7.50, and as the total outlay had only been about $G. 50 per head there was a aet profit of nearly $1 on each animal. Forty were also sent over with the B&ins, hoofs and interior intact, but on these throo was an average loss of 10 shillings per head, partly explained by the skins being damaged through bad packing.
