Show IN THE ARTIC REGIONS. News Prom a Provo Youth Who Will Soon Return to His Home, The following extract from a letter received in Provo yesterday will be of interest to many readers. The writer is well known here, the eldest son of Michael Barclay of the Fifth ward. Hekchel Island, Artie Ocean, September 1, 1995. My Dnar Sister I am enjoying good health at present, hoping this will find you the same. I do not think that the ship will be down to San Francisco this year, but will be down next. The winter months here are very cold, from 30 to 40 degrees below zero. If it is only 10 we think it is warm. "We have very good sport here. We have a theatre, In the dav time when it is not blowing too hard we have base ball and football. You folks will laugh when I tell you we have played ball when it wa 30 degrees below zero in the forenoon. We haye to go about three miles distant for fresh water to drinu and cook with. We use snow water for other purposes. The ships havo had bad luck this year, as a number of the sailors haye died, (here follows a list of those who have.died.) We liye up here just like so many Indians, the furs we wear up heie makes ub look so funny. If I live to get down again I don't think I ever wih come up here again.
