Show postal savings may be much liberalized 0 information was received this week at price Post postoffice office tice of the bill fostered by postmaster general hayes liberalizing postal savings having been favorably reported upon by the bouse house of representatives corn com cittee on post offices and post roads it Is expected that both branches of congress will act promptly in pass ing the measure under the provi ions of the bill the interest rate on postal savings will be increased from the present one ot of 2 per cent annually to 3 per cent the limit of twenty five hundred dollars al at lowed to any one depositor will be increased to five thousand dollars and the age limit ot of 10 years demov ed the bill also provides for joint and trust accounts now forbidden to postal savers under the joint account section of the bill two per sons will be permitted to open an account and either ot of the depositors may withdraw it on the death ot of the other accounts may also be opened by trustees or guardians price sun |
