EMPLOYER SALARY LOCATION DESCRIPTION Performs a variety of working level, complex duties to assure compliance with county uniform building and zoning codes. Building Inspector Trainee: Examines construction plans, specifications and specifies corrections for compliance; calculates permit fees; maintains files associated with permits, plan reviews, inspections, violations, notice and orders, testing, time tracking and associated items. Performs inspections within the scope of State licensure to assure that construction of existing and proposed structures and uses conform to the codes and ordinances of the County and State, and services notices, orders and reports. Deals with the public and industry professions, relating notices, orders, code requirements and provides general education in departmental and code issues and procedures. Zoning Administrator: Have a working knowledge of and enforce all provisions in the Sanpete County Zoning Ordinance and the Sanpete County Subdivision Ordinance. Issue Zoning permits for all building permits that are issued in Sanpete County outside of city limits. Accept, screen, and assist with applications for parties to meet with the Planning Commission and the Board of Adjustments. Check the zoning for and approve all business licenses to be issued in Sanpete County outside of city limits. Keep accurate and up to date files of all Planning and Zoning applications, zoning permit applications, and business license applications. Attend all Planning and Zoning Meetings and Board of Adjustment Meetings. Attend Sanpete County Commission Meetings when issues dealing with zoning are addressed.
