An ordinance repealing Section e Revised Ordinances of 1(6 Eureka City was passed at thla session. The section referred to is entitled Combinations ot Businesses," and governs the license fee paid by establishments engaged in more than one line of business. The council authorised the mayor to borrow 16,000.00 immediately for the purpose of defraying the running expenses ot the city. The council decided to clear a portion of the new city park for a baseball diamond, and this work was started on Wednesday. Several applications for the position of City Watarmaster were received at this meeting and it is understood that John II. Donnelly is the councils choice. The appointment will be made at the next meeting of the city officers. The resignation of Mr. Borup is sincerely regretted by the mayor and councilman.
