clubs in the state the preliminary steps toward launching the new civic tion were taken at a meeting of business men held at the city hall on tuesday evening of this week and work which has since been done by the committee indicates that the club will start with a member ship of over one hundred and it if so it 1 is sure to become an important factor in the development of the tin tic mining district the meeting on tuesday evening which was attended by nearly forty business men mining men and others was called at the request of some of the live business men of the city and had the endorsement of mayor bourne and others who feel the need of a club of this nature in promoting matters which are sure to be beneficial to the community the agitation for a better auto road into the eastern end of the district was one of the things which led up to the meeting and while this is an important matter it Is only one ot of the many things which can be handl ed under the direction of such an organization of boosters walter jensen called tuesday tuesdays s meeting to order and briefly outlined the object of bringing the business men together harold shriver was named as secretary A dozen or more business men made short talks and all of them feel that the time Is ripe tor for forming a commercial club eu reka having been without such a body tor for nearly twenty years ears after the matter had been pretty thorough ly discussed a membership commit tee and a committee on permanent organization were appointed by chairman jensen the membership desm I 1 cittee consists of 0 C E be held on tuesday of next week i when the above named committees will make their reports all who have joined will be considered char ter members of the club and it Is quite probable that the charter will be kept open dorthe remainder of the month it is that all members ot of the nW club lub as well as others who may care are to affiliate attend the next meeting and assist in the formal organization and the election of the first set of officers the mem barship fee has been fixed at 5 and the dues at 1 per month every male resident of the tintic gintic district Is asked to join those
