Snyderville Basin Planning Commission The Summit County Council is seeking one individual to serve on the Snyderville Basin Planning Commission. Meetings are scheduled the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Interested citizens must be residents of the Snyderville Basin Planning District for at least one year and may reside within the incorporated boundaries of Park City. The Commission’s role is to hear, review and recommend approval or disapproval of land use proposals consistent with the Snyderville Basin Development Code and other governing documents and to prepare or cause to be prepared amendments to the general plan, zoning and subdivision regulations. See page B-7 for just a few of the cats and dogs available for adoption Summit County Search and Rescue was searching in the High Uinta wilderness for a 25-year-old man who did not return from a hiking trip as planned, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office reported Friday morning. Kyle S. Wimpenny, of Boise, Idaho, started a solo backpacking trip in the High Uintas Sunday with the intention of hiking King’s Peak, according to a report from the Sheriff’s Office. Wimpenny told his roommate he would be home Wednesday, and the roommate notified authorities just after midnight Thursday when Wimpenny failed to return. Wimpenny is a white man with long brown hair and a beard. He’s 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 145 pounds and has hazel eyes and a scar above his right eyebrow. The Sheriff’s Office initiated a search early Thursday, continuing into Friday, and asks anyone who was in the King’s Peak area and may have seen Wimpenny to call 435-615-3601. responded to the Henry’s Fork trailhead after the Sheriff’s Office received the call and located Wimpenny’s vehicle in the parking lot. Summit County Search and Rescue initiated search efforts overnight Thursday and the search continued into Friday. Personnel have been searching by foot, on horseback and in aircraft. The Sheriff’s Office asks anyone who was in the area and may have seen Wimpenny to call 435-615-3601. Court report According to the Summit County Attorney’s Office, the following cases were heard on Monday, Sept. 14, in 3rd District Court at the Summit County Justice Center. Kyle D. Bishop, 21, of Nicholasville, Kentucky, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a third-degree felony. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 26. Bethany Candace Lackie, 36, of El Paso, Texas, entered into a 12-month plea in abeyance to disorderly conduct, a class C misdemeanor. The court ordered the defendant to pay a $300 fee and complete other standard terms and conditions. Leilani Irene Coombs, 44, of Salt Lake City, entered into a 12-month plea in abeyance to obstructing justice, a class A misdemeanor. The court ordered the defendant to pay a $200 fee and complete other standard terms and conditions. Rachel P. Hagemann, 37, of Park City, entered into a sixmonth plea in abeyance to obstructing justice, a class A misdemeanor. The court ordered the defendant to complete standard terms and conditions. Pedro Saldivar Sosa, 31, of Kamas, pleaded guilty to DUI, a class A misdemeanor. Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 21. Jill Leah Adams, 39, of Park City, was sentenced for third-degree felony DUI. The court placed the defendant on supervised probation for 36 months and ordered the defendant to serve 62 1/2 days in jail with credit for four days served, pay a $1,550 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions. The court also imposed a suspended sentence of zero to five years at the Utah State Prison. Glenn E. Attalla, 34, of Park City, entered into a 12-month plea in abeyance to possession of drug paraphernalia, a class B misdemeanor. The court ordered the defendant to complete standard terms and conditions. Jose Louis Solorio-Navarro, 43, of Salt Lake City, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia, a class B misdemeanor, and DUI, also a Class B Misdemeanor. Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 16.
