Fugate and Kimche are the anomalies of the crew, joining later on in their high school careers. Fugate arrived as a sophomore, who immediately interested Purcell do to his raw athleticism as a 6-foot-6 post, and is not the team’s starting center. Kimche, a golfer attending Dartmouth next season, came out this year for the first time and had developed into a vital role player before a knee injury has ended his season. Regardless of how the rest of this season turns out for the seniors, Purcell doesn’t want to see them go. Being a first year head coach, he’s grown close to his first group of seniors and as a result, wants their legacy to live far beyond this season. “I hope they come back and stay involved with the program,” Purcell said. “They’re a part of the future success here because of the example and the precedent they’ve set.” 6 6 5 5 4 2 2 1 7 8 9 9 9 13 13 14 1 0 1 1 1 0 0 0 13 12 11 11 9 4 4 2 Swimming - 0 - 6 SOUTH SUMMIT BOYS BASKETBALL (6-13, 2-5 Region 13, No. 16 in 3A) cal school, some who’ve started businesses and just give back to the community,” O’Brien said. “Our idea is to instill a direction in young athletes that no matter what they’re doing in life, they’re going to do it really well,” O’Brien said. “There are different podiums in life for everyone. Our athletes take the values and lessons they’ve learned from Wastach Freestyle and apply that to their careers. … They usually end up being better people for it.” O’Brien may be right about different podiums in life for everyone, but for Wilson, Page and the Hogg sisters, the only podium that matters are the ones this weekend. 0 8 2 17 Brighton Uintah Division 2A Region 16 Bingham North Summit 8 0 19 1 Murray Altamont 5 3 11 7 UCI-South North Sevier 5 3 9 10 Skyline Duchesne 4 4 9 9 Bountiful Gunnison Valley 2 6 9 10 Viewmont Monticello 0 8 2 17 Results – January 29 Park City 6, Oguirrh 0 Oquirrh 0 0 0 Park City 0 3 3 Results: Won 67-28 over Duchesne on Tuesday, Jan. 28 Won 79-38 over Altamont on Friday, Jan. 31 Upcoming: Friday, Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m. vs. Monticello (2-17) Saturday, Feb. 8 at 3:30 p.m. vs. Gunnison Valley (9-10) to-week,” he said. “They’ve distinguished themselves as top athletes who are ready for this opportunity.
