The annual event that has been a local tradition for more than 50 years will include an array of activities, live music and giveaways, said PCMR spokesperson Sarah Stutman. “New Year’s Eve is a time to celebrate,” Stutman said. “(For) us, it’s about appreciating the year behind us and looking forward to the year ahead.” DJ Velvet will kick off the Canyons Village party at 3 p.m., and the music will continue at 5:30 p.m. with the Cover Dogs, who will play songs from the 1970s through the 2000s, Stutman said. “We hope everyone who comes will be prepared to dance,” she said. The resort will offer free hot cocoa and s’mores, to complement the live music and fun, according to Stutman. Continued from C-1 Children will ring in 2020 with a laugh. For those who aren’t keen on the loud pops the reaction makes, another firework-themed project will include some scratchboard paper. Colors are revealed when kids scratch off the black ink that coat the paper. “They can design their own idea of what fireworks look like when they explode in the night C-5 The Park Record L O M B A R D I C R U L L E R S D E L O U S E D P A S T E O M A H A O N A J A G H O M A G E R O G E R F E D E R E R A S S C T I P L U S E N S E R U W T E O N E U S C G K C H O B A B R T H E O M A R K A I R E N R Y P N T U O M I R N D E R A L D S L A I R E L C A P R I E T M A N P A B I O R Y S M F O A R T T O N S L P M I A T I V G W E E E O N S A O T A L C H S I U R S E L E E I E S R A O F R E N O E A U L S R R E A R A M I F R U V I N E A V E L L E D S O P N S K R E I N V E D E C H M E R M V A E R S P X A R E G I R L P A S S E U S L M S I L A T I V A I R W A N O O N L S N A E S T T I E A L A M G L A M S E S A N O R E A S O N A B S C I S S A W E E K D A Y S D E L I V E R Y R O O M G E S T E O K A Y S F O N D U E S N E E R S COURTESY OF PARK CITY MOUNTAIN RESORT Fireworks at Canyons Village will serve as the finale of Park City Mountain Resort’s annual New Year’s Eve party on Tuesday. “We’re sticking to our traditions this year: music, fun, food and fireworks,” she said. Before the fireworks, the Park City Mountain avalanche rescue dogs are scheduled to make a special appearance from 5:307:30 p.m. and the evening will cap off with fireworks, weather permitting, Stutman said. “We love celebrating the holidays with our guests and New Year’s Eve is an ongoing tradition for us at Park City Moun- tain,” Stutman said. “We’re excited to provide a fun and lively setting at Canyons Village for locals and visitors to enjoy the evening together and we invite everyone to come and join us.” In addition to the New Year’s Eve party, Park City Mountain will continue Snowfest, a winter celebration of free live music and family-friendly activities — including ice sculptures, and s’mores roasting — through Jan. 6. sky,” Stamenov said. The firework area will also include a video that teaches how real fireworks are made. “The kids will find out where the fireworks colors come from and how people design patterns that are seen after the fireworks explode,” Stamenov said. “ If kids don’t fancy fireworks, they can draw or write their New Year’s resolutions on a mural. “We did this last year, and it was fun to have a conversation with the kids about what they wanted to happen in the upcoming year,” Stamenov said. “I there are some kids who want to keep their thoughts private, we’ll also provide individual canvases they can write or draw on to take home.” Noon Year’s Eve will also feature a hat and headband decorating studio. “I’m looking at all of the supplies we have here, and there are plenty of fluffy and shiny things that kids can get creative with and attach to their hats and headbands,” Stamenov said. “Once they decorate these things, they can wear them during the balloon drop.” The balloon drop is scheduled for high noon, in the Main Gallery, according to Stamenov. “We’ll do this in the midst of the current exhibit by the Park City Professional Artists Association,” she said. “So the balloons will fall on the heads of young artists, as they look around and see works by older artists.” Noon Year’s Eve is for all Park City Mountain Resort New Year’s Eve celebration VOTED PARK CITY’S BEST STEAK HOUSE 6 YEARS IN A ROW!
