Frank Bacon and Ray Sorenson returned late last week after a hunting trip in Spanish Fork conyon. They accompanied a relative of Mr. Sorenson In a search for deer but were unsuccessful. They had better luck fishing, landing quite a nice string of trout. James Crooks and Dan Ostrander returned early In the week after a hunting trip In the southern part of the state. They outfitted at Thurber and hunted on the Boulder and Lion mountains but found deer quite scarce In the sections visited. Walter Franks, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Franks, accompanied the U. of U. football team on its trip to California, appearing In the Une-u- p when the strong California eleven was played. The game was won by the California players. Frank Davis came out from Salt Lake on Tuesday morning, making the trip for the purpose of registering In order that he may be able to vote at the election on Tuesday. Frank still claims Eureka as his home but for the past few months has been spending much of his time In Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Fennell, Judge and Mrs. Edward Pike, Mrs. Alex Blight and Mrs. Edward Duggan were at Payson on Monday, going there to listen to a speech by Colonel Whittlesey, commander of the "Lost Batalllon. Laker spent Monday at Salt Lake, attending a meeting of the state medical association, which was adjourned early enough to allow the members to hear the former president, William Taft, who spoke at the tabernacle.
