For the 2009 Emery County Relay for Life, Judi Bishop will serve as event chairperson and Amy Day will serve as team development chairperson and the two volunteers are looking to top the 2008 event, which was the most successful Relay ever held in the county. The two are busy finding and organizing volunteers for the event in preparation for Relay U in Salt Lake City in November, which provides training for volunteers for the Relay event. An army of volunteers are needed to put the Relay together and anyone interested in volunteering is urged to call Judi Bishop at 653-2221 or Amy Day at 687-9771. Bishop and Day are hoping with the 15th anniversary to draw as many people back to the event as possible who have taken part over the years to be part of an alumni event. The theme for the 2009 Relay for Life will be “Back to the Future” and will open up huge possibilities for fun events and give teams a direction to make their own, specialized theme for their team.
