Show B2 The Emery County Review, Tuesday, August 19, 2008 EVENTS Melon Days Green River Prepares for Melon Days Celebration Tara Pyper peeks through the sleep compartment of one of the Little Campers. A ‘Little’ Camping Trip Continued from Page A1. road enthusiasts. Tara and Joe have been renting the little campers out at Gillys since late June, which is the start of what they hope to make a booming business in Little Camper rentals and sales. Designed and built by Debbie and Dewayne Rolland of ATV America, the campers weigh just 400 pounds and, according to Joe, are easy to pull. “I pulled it with a Grizzly 700 and I couldn’t even tell it was there,” Joe said. He said they have also pulled the camper with a truck at highway speeds and it pulled easily. With a width of only 50 inches and a length of 74 inches, the little camper can travel down almost any ATV trail. Inside, the camper accommodates a full size mattress and under the sleeping compartment is a storage area for everything from sleeping and camping supplies, to skis. Tara said they had been planned to get their little camper business up and running for some time and things fell into place in June, as the first units were shipped to them. They currently have two trailers and rent them out for $55 a day. Tara said that everywhere they have taken the campers they have turned heads, and people are amazed at not only where the campers can go, but how roomy they really are inside. While they rent out the two campers they have now, Tara said they also sell the campers. A unit currently costs $4,995 and ATV America will build them to suit the buyer. Currently ATV America is working on a desert model of the camper with some reinforced plating on the undercarriage and an air conditioning unit inside. As word spreads on the little campers, Tara and Joe display the expected enthusiasm of business owners seeing customers excited for the services they are offering. “When we go camping we can’t get any fishing done because everyone is curious about the camper,” Joe said. For more information on the little campers and J&T Rentals call Joe at 435609-1327 or Tara at 435-7497181. Green River City is preparing for its annual Melon Days celebration Sept. 19-20.
