Show lifestyles A4 • WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2009 Guardian of Your Community News Obituary Obituary Missionaries Ruth lone Bronson Fuller Lila Gull Curtis Holliday Cody Porter Ruth lone Bronson Fuller, almost 95 years old, died in Riverton, Utah at the home of Judy W. Fuller (her daughter). She was born Dec. 1, 1914 at the home of her grandparents, Hyrum S. and Harriet Hunsaker Lewis in Declo, Idaho. Ruth was thefirstof six children born to'James Lewis Bronson and Alice Camila Lewis Bronson. Ruth grew up in Springdale and attended Burley High School and was valedictorian of her Seminary class. She was active in Thespians Dramatic Club and Home Ec. Club and graduated in 1932 with high honors. She graduated from Albion State Teachers College in 1934. She taught school for two years in Oakley, Idaho and two years in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She married Donald Hugh Fuller in Chicago, 111. Dec. 24, 1937 and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 13, 1938. They lived in Ann Arbor, Mich, and moved to Payson, Utah in 1940. They then moved to Spanish Fork in 1956. Ruth held many positions in the LDS church, teacher in Primary, Relief Society, and Young Womens, and was also a member of the Relief Society Stake Board. She was an avid reader who loved the classics but loved her family most of all. Ruth spent 10 years as an Ordinance Worker in the Provo Temple until she fell and broke her hip while working there. With her husband she traveled the world visiting all over Europe, Russia, China, Iran, The Holy Land, South Seas, South America, Mexico, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, and Egypt, visiting temples in many foreign countries. She enjoyed her six children, 25 grandchildren, and 47 great grandchildren. She was so proud of her 12 missionaries who served all over the world. She lived in her Spanish Fork home for over 53 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Larry Bronson Fuller, and one brother, Karl Lewis Bronson. She is survived by her children, Donald H. Fuller II (Marilee); Susan F. (Roger) Wilson; (Susan S.) Fuller; Ruthann F. Peterson; Jeanne F. (Kelly Brent) Lewis; and Judy W. Fuller; two brothers, Robert M. Bronson; James H. Bronson; two sisters, Naomi Judd; and Merilyn Reeves. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov. 7 at the Spanish Fork 1st Ward Chapel. Interment was in the Payson City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at: www.walkerfamily mortuary .com Lila Gull Curtis Holliday, 79, died Oct. 30,2009 in Simi. Calif. She was born March 22, 1930, in Spanish Fork, a daughter of Raymond and Lenore Gardner Gull. She attended schools in Spanish Fork, and graduated from the Spanish Fork High School. Lila worked at the Spanish Fork Bank before her marriage to Glenn J. Curtis, also a native of Spanish Fork. He preceded her in death, also her children Kelvin Curtis, Dr. Glen Curtis, and a daughter Corrine C. Wade and a sister Donna G. Anderson. After their marriage they made their home in Simi, Calif., where they purchased and ran the Mid Valley Pharmacy together with the help of their children for about 45 years. She continued to manage the store after Glen's death until Dec. 2005 when she sold it and retired. She married W.C. (Bill) Elder Cody Porter, son of Stuart and Kristin Porter, has returned home after serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Tampico, Mexico. He will speak in the Crosswinds 2nd ward located at 1167 South 1700 East in Spanish Fork on Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. Holliday Aug. 14, 1982. He survives her as well as two daughters Kathleen, Kimberly and two sons Sam and Kirt Curtis, Vickie Mathias, Kathy (Richard) Philbin and Todd (Mary) Holliday, a daughter in-law Cheryl Curtis of Provo. Also numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters Melba G. King, Elizabeth Barnes, of Spanish Fork, and Beatrice G. Gates of San Jacito, Calif. Burial will be in Simi, Calif. Milestone Spencer Vance Elder Spencer Vance, son of Regan and Jana Vance, has been called to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Argentina Bahia Blanca Mission. He will be preaching the gospel in the Spanish language and will report to the Provo Missionary Training Center on Wednesday, Nov. 18. Elder Vance will be speaking on Sunday, Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. in the East Bench Ward located at 130 North 1430 East, Spanish Fork. Wedding Ruth Biberston Ruth Biberston of Salem turned 94 Tuesday, Nov. 3. She celebrated her birthday with family and friends. Her neighbors adore her and want to wish her a happy birthday. SFCT seeking director 375 North Main St. Spanish The Sentinel Spanish Fork Community Theater is looking for a Musical Director for their production of Music Man in July 2010 during the Fiesta Days Celebration. This play has a wide range of ages from children to adults as lead characters. The music is familiar to most people and is a well-loved musical. You must be able to play the piano. This is community theater, so it isn't really a paid position, hopefully a thank you stipend but a great item for your resume. • ' . •• . ' ^ The theater is also seeking a Props Person for this pfay. The atmosphere is great, the actors have a great time and build good friendships.
