Her proud parents are Shane and Taralei Leifson. Grandparents are Lynn and Diane Leifson and Milo and Linda Muhlestein, all of Spanish Fork. She also has three greatgrandparents. Milestone Dorothy Hughes Courtesy photo GOOD TURN: On Oct. 17, 2009, David Clare took the Salem 6th Ward scouts to weatherproof the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Salem cabin. The project, started by captain Linda Warren and Leola Butler of Salem camp D.U.R, was offered to the scouts by Salem camp member Wilma Riddle. It was eagerly accepted, to earn an eagle scout award. The scouts painted picnic tables, benches, steps and fences with paint donated by Salem city. They repaired, cleaned and sealed the cabin chimney and monuments. Salem camp Daughters of Utah Pioneers would like to express their appreciation to Salem city and Salem 6th Ward scouts. The family of Dorothy Hughes of Spanish Fork would like to invite family and friends to help her celebrate her 80th birthday. An open house will be held in her honor, Friday, Oct. 30 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Spanish Fork Senior Citizens Center. No gifts please. Sherm Huff pointed out that as past councilman he helped bring pressurized irrigation, the city reservoir, SFCN and the sports park to Spanish Fork. Wayne Andersen said we need to promote growth within our city by having family members stay in our community. He wants to follow up on current city projects that are going on. Steve Leifson wants to be part of making decisions that will affect the city for many years to come. He encouraged everyone to shop locally. Matt McEwen wants better communication between city council and the citizens. Keir Scoubes wants everyone to better understand the big picture of building up this city. Seth Sorensen wants to make sure Spanish Fork continues to be a great place to live. Doug Lund conducted the meeting. Deloris Nelson led the music, Mark Nelson led the pledge, and Richard Davis gave the prayer. Chad Bunn arranged the program.
