Andrew is the son of Preston and Tammy Haun. He currently resides in Spanish Fork, but has also lived in Provo. Andrew has 1 brother and 2 sisters. Andrew's favorite class in school is Medical Anatomy and Physiology because Mr. Shepherd makes it a lot of fun and relative to teenagers. Andrew also likes Yearbook because he gets to meet a lot of new people from going around school and doing interviews. Andrew's other favorites include cheesecake and Beto's. His favorite bands are Mayday Parade, Forever the Sickest Kids. The Maine, and Vega Under . Fire. Football is his favorite sport and he like the Atlanta Falcons. He also says that BYU is his favorite NCAA team. His favorite color is red. In his free time, Andrew enjoys music. He says, "I love music. I play the guitar and I go to a lot of shows so a lot of my time is dedicated to music. I listen to music a ton. I couldn't live without my iPod or cell phone." Andrew is involved in Yearbook, the Ping-Pong club, and the HOSA club. He says that one unique thing about him is that he is "a white boy with a fro". Short term goals for Andrew include graduating, saving enough money for a new and nice car and getting good grades throughout this year. He says that his long term goals are to go to dental school and college to become a dentist. When asked to discuss how he feels about education, Andrew said, "Starting high school I thought the education process would be mostly the same but it's turned out that it's a lot different from previous years in school. It's harder, but it pays off now and will pay : off later in life too." Mr. Shepherd, Andrew's science teacher, said, "Andrew Haun is a fun student to have in class. He helps add some excitement to the class usually on a daily basis. Andrew is a very good student who consistently ; does well on tests and assignments. He contributes ; to class discussions making ; them better for all the students in the class to under; stand. Jerron's favorite classes in school are Math because he says, "I love to hate it", English because he loves to read and write, Science because he gets to discover new things, History/Geography because he loves learning about the past and the places it happened, Conditioning because he can push himself to the limits, Choir/Drama/Orchestra because he loves to perform and Japanese. Jerron's other favorites include the color yellow. He says that he loves the band Yellowcard and the song, "Yellow" by Coldplay. If it is yellow, he likes it. In his free time, Jerron enjoys playing the bass guitar and the piano. He also likes to draw and paint. He says that one thing that is unique about him is that he has 2 different colored eyes. Jerron has received many different awards and recognitions including his Eagle Scout award, the Cougar Club award, Winner of the District Science Fair and the President's Education Award. Short term goals for Jerron include starting on the Varsity football team, making it into the Ambassadors Show Choir, and graduating from high school and seminary. His long term goals are to go on an LDS mission, go to college and get married. When asked to discuss how he feels about education, Jerron said, "I believe that although education is important in life, your attitude is more important and critical to your success. Public education has helped me to learn and grow, but my attitude has given me the capacity to learn these things." Mr. Shepherd, Jerron's Science teacher, said, "It is my pleasure to recommend Jerron Orton as the Student of the Month. 1 have been extremely impressed by Jerron. It is not often that you find a high school student as well rounded as Jerron. He plays football, is in the band, orchestra, drama, and is studying Japanese. He is not concerned about others perceptions, but does what he enjoys and does it well. In studying Japanese, Jerron does not study merely to get a good grade, but he studies so that he can understand and use what he has learned. He enjoys using what he has learned in class whenever possible. To coin a phrase made popular by Bronco Mendenhall, Jerron is 'fully invested' in his education. Not just for the here and now, but for the long haul." Congratulations, Jerron, on being chosen as Student of the Month for October.
