Especially when the cows There and Back Again had wandered into the corn field next to the corral. I don't remember what month Shirlene R, Ottcssen it was, but I do remember that the corn was tall enough that we couldn't see I can't believe it! But it's true. It's where the cows were. It was a dark night, October already! It has been another no moon and the wind was blowing. So busy summer and now it's gone. That there we were trying to holler to one brief cold spell last week reminded another above the noise of the wind, us that the seasons are changing once trying to walk through the tall corn and again. This is my favorite season. Spring figure out where everyone was, without is always welcomed after a long and running into one another and guessing cold winter, but I love Autumn. Now I have several packages of cooked meat ready to use in casseroles, so it wasn't so bad after all. A belated happy birthday to Marie Huff who turned 94 on Sept. 26! '.• Top Bucket Ceramic Fitter Bottom Bucket Letters to the Editor Making a difference Those in Spanish Fork and surrounding areas are doing a great job of volunteering and serving the community around them, but many, like myself, are also looking to reach out to our brothers and sisters around the globe. We cannot turn a blind eye to those who are in need. We must be aware of the problems that exist and the opportunities we have to help. Having worked with the Blueberry Children's Foundation, which happens to be centered in Salem, I have seen the tremendous good that can come from a little thought and work. This organization has made a considerable difference by delivering over 3,000 pairs of pajamas to orphans in the Ukraine just last year, and are now working to be able to deliver 10,000 pairs by the end of 2007. Something as simple as a pair of pajamas has improved these children's lives by helping them make it though the cold winters there. A small thought and a little action can show them they are loved and people care about their well-being enough to do something about it. There are many organizations, like the Blueberry Children's Foundation, that make helping these children easy. We just need to understand the real demand around the world and assist these people as best we can. We are so blessed to live in such a wonderful community and country and we should share a little of that with everyone else.
