During the past 19 years, more than $80,000 has been awarded, furthering the education of 58 scholarship winners. Funds invested in worthy young people originated from volunteer-driven enterprises such as Repeat Performance thrift store, hospital Gift Shoppes, and the Volunteer Guild. Scholarships are offered in an endeavor to support enhanced healthcare in local communities. While several criteria are in place, including financial need, scholarship and evaluation of education goals, the scholarships are directed toward students whose plans include building careers in southwestern Utah communities. Applications for the Si,500 scholarships may be obtained at counselor's offices in all local area high schools and Dixie State College, as well as at the Volunteer Services Office at Dixie Regional. They must be postmarked by March 17, 2007 and mailed to: Scholarship Committee Chairperson, Dixie Regional Center. 544 South 400 Hast, St. George, Utah 84770. The Dixie Regional Medical Center Volunteer Scholarship Committee will announce winners by the end of April. Born April 25, 1922 in Widtsoe, Utah to Laura Edna Colliding and Lewis Orkin Campbell. Married Allen M Cox on November 4, 1939 in the St. George Temple. Allen died February 16, 2002. Twila was a domestic engineer in child rearing and development specialist who had worked in a home environment with numerous subjects on an extended basis throughout her life. She was an active member of the LDS Church, and served as Primary President, Relief Society President, Sunday School Teacher, and many other service callings. She served a missions with her husband in the Pennsylvania llarrisburg Mission from 1988 to 1989. She felt one of her greatest accomplishments was her missionaries offspring. All 8 of her sons. I daughter, 14 grandchildren, and I great grandson have served the Lord as missionaries, and the family had 3 missionaries out at the same time several times. She loved Quilling and Crocheting, and was an excellent cook with homemade goods. Twila is survived by her children Joyce (Glenn) Johnson of Burlington, Wyoming, Melvin (Rachel) Cox of Ordcrvillc, Utah. Blanc (Judy) Cox of Alexandria, Virginia, Burton (Mary Ann) Cox of Moapa, Nevada, Barton (Marilee) Cox of Orangeville, Utah, Irene (Karl) Briggs of Si. George. Utah, Kenneth (Deeona) Cox of La Verkin, Utah, Dean (Connie) Cox. of West Valley City, Utah, Jay (Scheri) Cox of Benson, Arizona, and Lewis (Sara) Cox of Lindon, Utah; son-inlaw. Dale "Doc" Sorcnsen of Mt. Carmel, Utah; brother. Vane (Joann) Campbell of Alton, Utah; and over 100 grandchildren, greal-grandchildien and great-greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Allen Cox. daughter Margaret Sorensen, daughter-in-law Karen Golfi Cox, and siblings Thora Leach, Dorian Campbell, Donald Campbell, Clorine Campbell. Kenneth Campbell, and Lane Campbell. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 8'\ 2007, at 11 AM in the Orderville LDS Chapel. Viewings will be held Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the Orderville Chapel and Thursday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 AM. Burial will be in the Alton Cemetery under the direction of Mosdcll Mortuary.
