Coming across Boulder Mountain and eventually brining wives and families, Boulder Utah was settled. Boulder possesses a unique heritage as a ranching area and one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in the world. The Boulder Heritage Festival began as a way to celebrate the many unique traditions ans stories of Boulder, both from the past and present. The festival is held on the grounds of the Anasazi State Park and Museum. Boulder was one of the last communities in the United States to receive mail by mule. We will celebrate this with a mail delivery reenactment as a kick off to the festival. Festival participants can have their mail CHILDRENS AUTHOR TO VISIT TROPIC VOLUNTEER CENTER Children's Author Mike Graf will be at the Volunteer Center in Tropic on Monday, June 26,2006 at 10:00 a.m. to give a presentation and reading from his latest book, "Danger in the Narrows", a book about a family adventure while traveling through Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. Everyone is welcome. Books will be available for purchase and for autographing by the author. Come join the fun, meet the author and maybe win a free book! Graf will also be at the Bryce Canyon National Park Visitor Center at 3:00 p.m. delivered to the festival by depositing letters at mailboxes at the Anasazi State Park or at Pole's Place. Each year, one of the settling families is the focus on Thursday night. This year the Coombs Family will be featured. They will share family stories and talents. The evening will end with a campfire sing-a-long. Friday and Saturday from 12 pm to 9 pm, there will be a variety of local bands and musicians on the lawn. There will be a silent auction from 2pm-5pm on both days and a live auction at 6pm on Saturday. Other activities include workshops on the Boulder Mail Trail, local geology, horseshoeing, canning, letter sharing, arrowhead making, and storytelling. There will be vendors selling a variety of arts, crafts and foods. A dutch oven cook-off will be held on Saturday with the opportunity to sample.
