Show as VIM 1111011T 41'1 Shane Maryott/ UVU Review Shane Maryott/ UVU Review MEN'S BASKETBALL Along with bringing back five players, Coach Dick Hunsaker added four true freshmen, one sophomore transfer and three junior transfers to the Wolverine basketball roster. The Wolverines finished their season 19-11 overall and 11-1 in conference play. They were the Great West Conference regular season champions and the No. 1 seed going into the GWC tournament. Coach Hunsaker was named the GWC Coach of the Year, while Isiah Williams was named the GWC Player of the Year and also named All-American by the Associated Press. Shane Maryott/ UVU Review WOMEN'S SOCCER Andrea Whatcott/ UVU Review The 2010 season saw the soccer team finish with a record of 10-9-1 and they almost repeated their 2009 GWC tournament success. The lady Wolverines sent off nine seniors who, together, were the most successful class of seniors ever to grace Wolverine soccer. Together they won three championships: a United Soccer Conference tournament championship, a regular season championship and one Great West Conference tournament championship. They also were victorious winning a regular season championship and two GWC regular season titles during their UVU careers. Shane Maryott/ UVU Review Shane Maryott/ UVU Review Coach Cathy Nixon brought in three true freshmen, one junior transfer, and one sophomore transfer to add to her returning roster of four sophomores and three juniors. With another Cinderella roster, the lady Wolverine basketball team finished their season 8-21 overall and 5-7 in Great West Conference play. Newcomer Sammie Jensen was named to the GWC AllTournament Team with her performance in the GWC tournament. Shane Maryott/ UVU Review The lady Wolverine volleyball team's 2010-11 season came to an end in the semifinals of the Great West Conference tournament as they fell to the University of South Dakota. Utah Valley finished the season 21-11 and said goodbye to four seniors. Senior Dani Robison was named to the GWC AllTournament team. Senior Kayli Doxey was honored with both the Wolverine Achievement Female Athlete of the Year as well as the Wolverine Club Athletic female Athlete of the Year. Kira Terry/ UVU Review The 2010-11 season saw Ben Kjar and Flint Ray return to Nationals for the second consecutive year, and Justin Morrill make the trip for the first time. Kjar went on to become UVU wrestling's first ever All-American, finishing fourth in the nation. Kjar also was honored as the Western Wrestling Conference Wrestler of the Year, the Wolverine Achievement male Athlete of the Year and the Wolverine Club Athletic male Athlete of the Year. |
