Assistant News Editor With Earth Day on Apr. 22, minds are turning towards ways to protect the environment in order to preserve life. Events locally, nationally and world wide are being set up to help in this process. This week at UVSC is Environmental Awareness Week. Many events ranging from Earth Day displays to screenings of the films Who Killed The Electric Carl and Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth, are scheduled to occur. The 10th annual Environmental Awareness Week is cosponsored by the Center for the Study of Ethics and ASUVSC Green Club, and in the past has had Mayor Rocky Anderson address the school focusing on the efforts that the city of Salt Lake has done in order to be more sustainable and serve as an example of an environmentally-conscious large city. This year an array of representatives of environmental activist, awareness and related groups will be participating, including: UTA, Utah Department of Natural Resources and Clean Cities Utah. More than anything, the idea around the month of April is conservation; Earth Day is just one day to remind us of the importance of our actions.
