Donner and Galbraith were 2 of the 4 people involved in a freak drowning accident last August in a Provo mountain cave. In order for this scholarship to be permanently implemented $30,000 must be raised to fund it. Admission for the benefit concert, sponsored by the philosophy department, is $6 and all proceeds will go toward funding the scholarship. The concert will feature local punk/ rock bands such as Greyskull, Bafabegiya, Saturday Nite Suits, Exit Everything, and Parallax. Parallax will be selling their newly released album and part of those sales will be donated to the scholarship. Also featured at the concert will be "Spoken Word", by Alex Caldiero. Students and faculty members have planned a concert to raise money for the Donner-Galbraith Scholarship fund. The first scholarship was awarded in January 2006 to Joseph Mayes during the MLK Commemoration. This scholarship is awarded to "liberal arts students whose studies and extracurricular activities embody social activism."
