Kind of a "UVSC" version of the Academy Awards, student-filmmakers submitted their films prior to the festival, winners were selected, and awards were presented, along with screenings of the winning films. Several awards were presented, including: Best Short Film, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Cinematography, Best Silent Film, Best Music, Video, and People's Choice. The play tells the story of two proper London housewives, a glamorous socialite, and a lonely old widow who rent a villa in Italy for a month. The novel, by Elizabeth von Arnim was published in 1922; a hit movie of the novel was made in 1992, and Barber's play was nominated for a Tony for Best Play in 2003.
