The event concluded at Kingsbury Hall with speeches from Salt Lake City Mayor Ben McAdams, 2013 MLK Jr. Community Engagement Chairwoman Jennifer Williams Molock and ASUU President Geneva Thompson. "We need to know our past and how we can improve upon it instead of to keep reiterating it," Thompson said. She said the event was an important learning tool for students and younger generations and gave them the chance to hear King's teachings and work to make a better future. "It's a cross-generational event. Even when Dr. King walked, there were children that walked with him. So it's important that we [march]," tweetlemaniactwialot speak twitter heard on t twee t Molock said. "It's a wonderful opportunity to share the vision and keep the dream alive." Molock said in the future she hopes to see more students and student groups help grow the event across Utah. She is encouraged by the progress to equality but said the journey isn't over. "We're not done yet," Molock said. "We've got a long way to go." c.wallace@ chronicle.utah.edu widiotwidio maltwe tW he Like to draw?
