Show LI lindlag ADING A LUT extracts from a letter written by frank russell who is now at st paul minnesota to his parents mr and mrs D J russell sr of this city indicate that life in the aviation school Is not all one round of plea sure the young man gives an out line of the dally daily routine at the school we get up at 5 45 and are fully dressed and out in line by 6 clock tor for reveille after which we have calisthenics for twenty min utes tall fall in for mess and march to the mess hall by 6 30 after break fast we go back and clean up our bunk and get washed and shined up for inspection by 7 30 tall fall in tor for school call and must be ready tor for work by 8 0 clock recall from the school sounds at 12 0 clock and it takes ten minutes to get out and march to our quarters where the sergeant is waiting for us to tall fall in tor for mess through with dinner we march back to school and remain un til 4 30 when we rush oft off in our fa tigue clothes and drill until 6 15 after which we form tor for retreat and it is always 7 30 before we are done with our supper we are required to shave each day and between 7 30 and 10 45 is the only time we have for doing our washing mending writing and whatever else has to be done so you see the day Is pretty well filled up the course at this school is very thorough and each man is compelled to do practical work on machines each man Is not only taught to operate a machine but Is instructed in the use of tools and Is capable of making any and all parts of an aTeo plane as it Is intended that that when a man leaves the he will be able to build a complete ma chine |
