The Signpost and its staff won awards from both the Utah Press Association and Region Nine of the Society of Professional Journalists. Just as for the last four years, The Signpost once again received the General Excellence award from the UPA after receiving the most awards amongst its peer papers. The paper as a whole also received first place for general news coverage, second place for best community event, best staff-produced ad and best lifestyle page and third place for best special section. The Signpost also received the Utah’s Finest award for the best lead story. These photographers will move on to the national competition. The Signpost also had several finalists in many categories.
