Join Ogden Downtown Alliance on Historic 25th Street Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., May 28 thru September 10. With more than 200 vendors spanning three full blocks of Historic 25th Street from Washington Boulevard to Wall Avenue, Farmers Market Ogden offers an opportunity to shop the best of fresh produce, support local businesses, enjoy live music, and more. “Building farm-to-table connections is one of the many things that excites me about this year’s summer market,” says Sher Rowley, Market Manager for Farmers Market Ogden. “Keep an eye out for new vendors and the opportunities to volunteer at local farms!” Of this year’s 200+ accepted vendors, roughly 52 percent are artisans, 31 percent are grocery/produce, and 13 percent are prepared food and food truck-style vendors. Attendees can plan to spend the morning shopping local and stocking up on fresh produce, which is expected to grow throughout the season as the harvest increases. Additionally, Farmers Market Ogden will provide community organizations and nonprofits the opportunity to connect directly with the public through weekly pop-up activities. “I have been getting ready to share all that Shan Shui Gardens has to offer with our hometown,” says Dennis Duce, owner of Shan Shui Gardens, a new vendor this year. Committed to “enabling biodiversity” and “selling abundance,” Shan Shui offers flowers, fresh veggies, herbs, fruit, and nuts. “Each week will be unique depending on what we have available during your summer market visits.” Market attendees also can enjoy outdoor community yoga classes every market Saturday at 9:00 a.m. in the Municipal Gardens. Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat or participate on the grass. While this community class is free and open to the public, donations are encouraged. Farmers Market Ogden is an authorized Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT), Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB), and Produce RX retailer. “With many of our community members qualifying for SNAP, we are proud to run this program and provide that key access to local agriculture through Farmers Market Ogden.
